Verbs Pack 2
A verb is a word that expresses an action.
Verbs are also called doing words or action words.
A verb is a key around which a sentence is built. Children have to be taught to choose expressive verbs when speaking or writing.
In this post, I am sharing a detailed verbs worksheet pack which you can attempt after you have completed Pack I of Verbs.
In the above verbs worksheet, we have the ‘I can’ sentences to complete. Our learners have to read the sentences and see the picture next to them. Then they can use the action words in the word bank to complete the sentences.
Like the first worksheet, the children have to read the sentences and see the picture next to the sentences. You can make these worksheets more interesting by cutting the word tiles and pasting them in the blanks. I do this when handling fewer children.
In the above verbs worksheet, color the glitter balls with the verbs ‘red’. The answers are: hear, blow, flow, climb, sneeze, shake, go, talk, smack, mow and bake.
In the next worksheet, the children will read the sentences and complete them using a noun under NOUNS and a verb under VERBS. It is a challenging worksheet for them to do nouns and verbs together.
Read the nouns and highlight the action words that relate to that particular noun.
Actions that relate to water are drink and swim. They will be highlighted. Warm and cold describe water and hence are adjectives and will not be highlighted.
Nouns, Verbs and adjectives can be confusing and children must be taught to discriminate among them. I have some great games, activities, worksheets and other resources to discriminate among these parts of speech. Do try them.
