Verbs or action words Pack1
Verbs are words that express an action.
Verbs are also called doing words or action words.
To read about verbs in detail and download the Verb anchor chart, click on the image below.
In this post, I am sharing a detailed pack of worksheets which is ideal when you are beginning verbs with the little learners.
In the above worksheet, read the nouns to the left and then complete the sentences with the action words to the right. Fill the nouns in the blanks.
The duck quacks.
The top spins.
The wax melts.
The duck swims.
The bat hits.
The frog croaks.
The clock ticks.
In the next action words worksheet, our learners have to tell us what is happening in the pictures.
The wind is blowing.
He is jumping
The camera is clicking.
The rain is falling.
He is kicking the ball.
He is yelling.
The next action words worksheet is pretty similar to the previous one. The child has to fill in the blank with the verb.
The snow falls.
The duck quacks.
He yawns.
The koala climbs.
The phone ring.
The ostrich walks.
In the above two worksheets, we have the ‘I can’ sentences to complete. Our learners have to read the sentences and see the picture next to them. Then they can use the action words in the word bank to complete the sentences. You can also cut the action words into word tiles and children can paste them in the blanks.
Read the sentences and circle the verbs. We also try and underline the nouns in this particular worksheet.
The answers are:
crawled
cooking
plucks
napping
listen
writes
yell
sells
fetch
Colour the glitter balls with the verbs ‘red’. The answers are: run, take, snore, pick, rip, make, write, click, bang, and hang.
In the last worksheet, the children will read the sentences and add write the nouns under NOUNS and verbs under VERBS. It is a simple worksheet for them to do nouns and verbs together.
