I have… who has? SYNONYMS game
Synonyms are words that have the same or similar meanings. Any words whether it is a noun, verb, adjective, adverb or preposition can have a synonym as long as both words are the same part of speech.
Writers can enhance their writing skills by using a variety of words in their written work. Using a thesaurus is a good way to know the synonyms for any word.
I have… Who has? card game is a fun way for kids to read, learn and practice various skills. The easiest way to make children learn is through hands-on games and activities.
Have the children sit in a circle. The child with the start card goes first. The children stand and read their cards. And a chain reaction ensues.
Who has the synonym for ‘swift?’
I have.. fast!
The child with the correct answer stands up and reads their card. The game continues until ‘FINISH’ card is read. To make it more challenging, time the children and have them try to break their own record.
This is a tried and tested game. There are a total of 36 cards in this pack, so children will get enough cards and enough practice. This is a wonderful game for building vocabulary.
There are 6 sheets with 6 cards printed on each sheet. That makes it 36 cards in all. That makes it around 36 pairs of synonyms for practice.
You will need to print these sheets and cut them into cards. Print these picture cards on card stock and laminate them for durability.
If you think playing the game once will be enough for your little ones, you could not be more wrong. We usually play this game twice and after that, I try and make sure we do some writing practice.
I have a ‘synonyms and antonyms’ sort game which you can practice after this pack.
This ‘synonyms game’ pack is a subscriber freebie.
