

Short vowel sound words list
Phonics words list worksheets are a great tool to practice reading and spelling. These ‘short vowel sound words’ list show our little readers that words are often related by a pattern, a spelling pattern. Understanding this pattern makes them better at reading and spelling. CVC word list is important for reading three-letter words.
I am sharing a six CVC word list Pack for each of the short vowels ‘a e i o u.’ and two lists for -ck and double consonant words. These ‘short vowel sound words’ charts can also be put on the display wall.
The above worksheet is a CVC word list for short a words. I have used CVC words and the vowel ‘a’ is highlighted.

I have also created these reading cards for short vowel sounds. There are 4 cards on each of the 2 A4 sheets. You will need to print these sheets and cut them into cards. Print these picture cards on card stock and laminate them for durability.
You can punch these cards to make holes and put a binder ring through these holes to keep the cards together.
