A digraph is two letters that make just one sound.
A consonant digraph is two adjacent consonants that produce one sound.
s and h are two consonants that come together to form a new sound, the /sh/ sound.
I usually tell children that when ‘s’ and ‘h’ come together, they form a new sound, /sh/.
Today, I will be sharing the second pack for digraph sh. You can find Pack 1 of sh sound words by clicking here.
Pack 1 of sh sound has easier words so please attempt those before trying this pack.
Read the sh words and highlight digraph ‘sh.’ I have used sh words with consonant blends like bl, cl, dr, fr, sm, etc.
A cut and paste, picture sort worksheet for -ash words. Color the pictures and cut them. Read the words and stick the picture under it.
A cut and paste, picture sort worksheet of short vowel words with the sh sound. Cut the pictures. Read the words and stick the pictures under the words.
Read the words in the word bank. Identify the pictures and write the words under them.
In the above sh sentences with pictures worksheet, the words are scrambled. Unscramble the words to form a logical sentence and write it using basic punctuation.
The cut and paste ‘word puzzle’ worksheet is kids’ favorite. There are six pictures that need to be cut along with the letters. Cut along the dotted line too. Now give your child three tiles for the first word and let him/her form the picture and read the word under it.
I make the kids stick word puzzles in their notebooks. We stick one puzzle and write a simple sentence containing that word.
I have a pack of worksheets for digraph sentences. Do check it.
The last is a word sort worksheet. There are words that begin with sh and there are words that end with sh. Read the words and sort them. Paste them in the correct box.
