UPDATE: I have uploaded ‘Colours of the rainbow’ worksheet in this post and you can find it towards the end of this post.
Rhyming words sound the same and have the same ending SOUND. In this post, I will be sharing rhyming words worksheets for practice.
You can download the rhyming words anchor chart by clicking on the image above. To read about ‘rhyming words’ in detail, please check this post.
You can also download free rhyming words board games there.
I will be sharing a pack of 7 worksheets. These free preschool and kindergarten worksheets will help your kids learn about rhyming words and will improve their rhyming skills. Let’s discuss the worksheets.
Match the FlipFlops with the rhyming words and form a pair. Color the rhyming FlipFlops with the same color. The above worksheet is for short vowel ‘e’ and I have used short vowel CVC words so this pack can easily be attempted by preschool and kindergarten.
Match the FlipFlops that rhyme with each other to form a pair and then color that pair with the same color. Once completed, the children can go ahead and write the rhyming words in their notebooks.
I like to try this pack once we have completed word families and children have understood the concept of blending. I have seen that these worksheets give children the necessary practice and help them blend better. It also gives the required phonological awareness skills. Rhyming helps them understand sounds and word structures better.
I have created 5 worksheets each for short vowel a e i o u.
This cute pack can also be used as homework for children. Children in my class are really fond of these worksheets and really enjoy attempting them.
The last 2 worksheets have a mix of the short vowel a e i o u CVC words.
These worksheets will help children learn the concept of rhyming. Rhyming is an essential early phonics skill and these simple worksheets are geared towards helping kids recognize words that rhyme.
This pack is a subscriber freebie.
