Prepositions worksheets for first grade
Prepositions are words we use to show the relationship of a noun or a pronoun to another word in the sentence. Prepositions can also be called place words because they often tell us the position of things.

I have designed worksheets for prepositions for first and second graders. They are ideal when introducing prepositions. Let’s discuss them.
An interesting cut and paste worksheet with directions. It will help in understanding the basic prepositions- in, on, under, beside, and above.
See the pictures and read the simple sentences. Use the prepositions in the box to complete the sentences.
I have created these cute posters and flashcards for my little learners. You can download the free PDF file by clicking on the image above. The place words that I have covered are βin, on, under, out, off, over, above, below, between, toward, against, through, behind and across.
See the scene carefully and using the prepositions in the box, complete the sentences. This worksheet includes prepositions like in, under, on, beside, between, around, above, under, next, etc. Please note that when it comes to a chair, both in and on can be used depending on the kind of chair. For armchairs, we use the preposition ‘in.’ For chairs without arms, we use ‘on.’
See the scene of ‘the living room’ and complete the sentences by using words from the box. This worksheet includes important prepositions such as in, on, between, above, behind, in front of, etc.
Circle the preposition and then pick the best ending to complete the sentence.
Two words are given for each sentence, Only one of them is correct. Circle or highlight the correct one. You will find new prepositions such as with, of, from, by, into, etc. in this worksheet.
The sentences in this worksheet are incomplete. Circle the preposition and complete the sentences in your own words.
This pack will give your child enough practice to understand. The worksheets are free for subscribers to download.
