nd ng nk nt words booklets

nd ng nk nt words booklets

We often come across words like ring, sting, link, sunk, bent, spent, vend, land, etc. All of these words end with n blends. Ending blends and digraphs ‘ng nk nt nd’ are quite confusing since there is little difference in how each sounds. This becomes a problem, especially when writing these words.

I have created a chart that will help you sound out the n blend words and hopefully lessen the confusion among their sounds.

I will be sharing four books with you, one each for ‘ng nk nt nd’ short vowel words. These books are ideal for first grade and kindergarten to practice words and sentences with n blends.

The instructions to print are mentioned in the book. This book requires only 2 sheets to form an A5 size (approximately) book. The sheets will be printed on both sides. All the pages are numbered so there will not be any confusion.

In case, you have to print on both sides manually, print pages 1 and 8 and pages 6 and 3 first. On the reverse of pages 1 and 8, print pages 2 and 3. On the reverse of pages 6 and 3, print pages 4 and 5.

Since the print will be on both sides, use a thicker sheet.

First is ‘My book about nd words.’ Click on the above image to download the PDF file.

Circle the pictures with ‘nd sound’ on page 2. The pictures are tong, sand, diamond, send, almond, wand, band, bend, island, and tank.

On the next two pages, children have to frame sentences using the words given. A sentence begins with a capital letter. This rule will help children understand the first word of the sentence. Sentences end with a period or full stop or question mark or exclamation mark. This will make punctuation rules clear and also help children frame sentences. Do not forget to color the pictures.

The last two pages are for writing sentences. Children have to write sentences with words whose pictures have been provided. The words are the same that the children have traced on page 3.

Before attempting this book, I suggest you try the nd words worksheets Pack which is simpler and ideal to introduce the sound.
