Consonant blends or clusters are two or more consonants together in which each consonant is pronounced, with no vowel sounds in between them. Beginning consonant blends are also called initial consonant blends.
Black, clot, flip, glum, plop, sled etc. are l blend words with an initial l consonant blend. You can see bl cl fl gl pl sl appear at the beginning of the words.
