Beginning sounds flipbooks are a wonderful tool for learning and practicing to recognize the letters and their beginning sounds. These free printables are great educational resources for teachers. I use these free beginning sounds worksheets with preschool and kindergarten kids to get them acquainted with beginning sounds. I like the fact that the flipbook is made out of one complete sheet.

The cutting part also does not require much effort once you understand it and kids get excited and eager to learn a new sound with the help of flipbooks.

Each flip book includes the letter and five engaging and to be colored pictures beginning with that letter sound.

In order to assemble these free beginning sounds worksheets, we first cut the sheet from the centerline horizontally like in the image above. Now the sheet is divided into two halves.

Please note that the upper half of the sheet with the letter and one picture will remain intact. The rectangle with the picture of the ‘elephant’ forms the base for the flipbook. Cut the four picture rectangles from the other half like in the image above. The image on the extreme left is that of the ‘egg’

Now, the picture without the ‘glue/staple’ marking will come on top (picture on the extreme left of the sheet.) In the ‘e’ flipbook it is the picture of ‘egg’.

Arrange the flip pages one of top of the other and staple them to the base (elephant.) Now, the kids can flip and read their flipbooks.
Kids love to flip!
These flipbooks are easy to prep educational resources for teachers and can also serve as homework printables.
If I could recommend a book for making your child learn the alphabet in a fun way, it would have to be Dr. Seuss’s ABC. From Aunt Annie’s alligator to the colorful Zizzer-Zazzer-Zuzz, Dr. Seuss’s delightful book introduces early learners to the letters of the alphabet through an amazing array of crazy creatures.
Big B, little B, what begins with B?
Baby, barber, bubbles, and a bumblebee!
Children can have lots of fun that is funny learning about big and little letters.

Please note that while I colored the pictures before assembling the flipbook for easier understanding, I always first staple the flipbook and then give it to the child to identify the pictures, sounds and then color it.
These flipbooks are so attractive and require very little prep. So, go ahead and start flipping with these flipbooks for your little learners.
These grasp crayons in the picture above are perfect for preschool children. They are easy to grip and help the child transition from grasp to grip formation. A must-have with my 3-year olds. You can find them here.
