I have… who has? CVC words game.
I have… Who has? card game is a fun way for kids to read, learn and practice various skills. The easiest way to make children learn three-letter words is through hands-on games and cvc words activities.
Have the children sit in a circle. The child with the start card goes first. The children stand and read their cards. And a chain reaction ensues.
The child with the correct answer stands up and reads their card. The game continues until ‘FINISH’ card is read. To make it more challenging, time the children and have them try to break their own record.
Our little ones may not be able to read yet, but they are quick to catch on to how the game is played and read their cards accordingly.
This is a tried and tested game. There are a total of 40 cards in this pack, so children will get enough cards and enough practice.
Most times, I play this game along with the children. Trust me, the little ones appreciate that and it increases involvement.
There are 10 sheets with 4 cards printed on each sheet. That makes it 40 cards in all. That makes it more than 50 ‘three-letter words’ for practice.
You will need to print these sheets and cut them into cards. Print these picture cards on card stock and laminate them for durability.
If you think playing the game once will be enough for your little ones, you could not be more wrong. We usually play this game twice and after that, I try and make sure we do some writing practice.
If your kids are not comfortable reading three-letter words yet, try word family activities and worksheets.
This activity can be a good start for reading and writing sentences.
This ‘CVC words activities’ pack is a subscriber freebie.
