Identify the pictures and complete the puzzles by writing the words in the blocks. Teach the children the concept of across and down.
Word puzzles help with spelling and understanding the relationship between words and their spellings. It also helps establish a word pattern.
These puzzles help to reinforce spelling in children’s minds since the words are linked to one another and need to be spelled correctly to be able to solve the puzzle.
Word puzzles improve children’s speed as these puzzles require quick thinking. These puzzles help in the overall processing speed of a child.
Word puzzles also encourage problem-solving. It helps children understand how different words interact on the grid. How ‘bug’ and ‘hug’ have the same ending sounds and how ‘sub’ and ‘sum’ have the same beginning sound.
