a to z beginning sound set ( colour, trace and paste)
The first step in phonics is understanding sounds- beginning sounds- the first sound you hear in a word. Since it is the introduction to phonics, I do stress a lot on these and use various games, activities, and worksheets so my little learners can master beginning sounds.
Today, I am sharing a pack with you which is sure to teach as well as challenge our learners.

phonics sound ‘i’ worksheets
Our little learners can color the letter and its beginning sound. I like trying rainbow writing with kids and they enjoy it. Then, circle the letter and its sound. Next is the tracing of the letter and its sound section. After that, we write the letter and its sound in blocks.

phonics sound ‘qu’ worksheet
The last section is pasting the beginning sounds pictures. Cut the 6 picture tiles. Five of them begin with the beginning sound we are doing. One does not. Stick the ones that begin in the space provided. Color the pictures!
I use color pencils with my preschool and kindergarten kids for these printables. It is a comprehensive worksheet to practice beginning sound with kids.
If you are looking for simpler worksheets for preschool, this colorful set could be right for your needs. You will find 26 a to z worksheets to practice letters and sounds. Click on the image below to go to my blog post and download it for free.

Then read it out with the kids in the form of a jingle.
