How about we make kids learn about various fruits, vegetables and food items along with their beginning sounds? These activity worksheets will not only help practice letter and beginning sounds but also enhance vocabulary about things we eat.
This Pack will also allow parents and teachers to discuss and encourage kids to eat all different kinds of vegetables. I created this pack for our monthly theme, ‘Healthy eating habits.’ We prepared fruit salad, vegetable sandwiches, lemonade, decorated cupcakes and tried our hands at gardening. You could also try something similar.
You will find 8 fun and colorful worksheets in this pack. These are cut and paste worksheets and your kids will love this activity. Cut the letter tiles and paste the beginning sounds next to the correct picture.
This activity pack can be teamed with a lovely book called ‘Eathing the Alphabet’ by Lois Elhert. While teaching upper- and lowercase letters to preschoolers, Ehlert introduces fruits and vegetables from around the world. A glossary at the end provides interesting facts about each food.
It is a must have for every classroom.
Above is the cheat sheet for all the fruits and vegetables covered in the eight worksheets. Please note that I have also included food items like juice, sushi, burger, pizza, yoghurt, butter, egg etc.

When practicing these letter and beginning sounds worksheets, try and discuss the shape, size and color of each vegetable and fruit. Also discuss their texture with kids. Talk about seeds. Compare the seeds of a plum with that of an apple.
