Hello! I am back with another b and d confusion worksheets.
I understand how confusing these two preschool letters are for kids and how frustrating that can get for parents and teachers. It is a matter of constant practice for kids so I designed yet another pack to help discriminate between the two letters and sounds.
Before I discuss this pack with you, please understand that it is perfectly fine and normal if your child often gets these two sounds wrong when reading or writing them. ‘b’ and ‘d’ are mirror images of each other and it is okay if there is a confusion. What we can do is make them practice these b and d confusion worksheets regularly. The child will eventually get it.
The above ‘b and d confusion‘ worksheet is for lowercase b and d letter sorting. Cut the lowercase b and d letter tiles and paste them in the correct box.
Pictures: donkey bow belt
dragonfly bat doctor
bed dog boat
Another fun picture sort activity worksheet for our little learners.
Cut the picture tiles and let them paste it above the ‘b’ or ‘d’ basket.
‘b’ pictures- bird, bow, bat, butterfly, ball and bell
‘d’ pictures- dolphin, door, donkey, deer, dragon and drum
In this worksheet, the child has to read both the words and highlight the one that corresponds to the picture.
Answers: bat cub den
bin bag beg
big bug dig
In this worksheet, the CVC words need to be completed. The missing sound is either ‘b’ or ‘d’.
The last b and d confusion worksheet encompass grammar as well as phonics. It is a ‘this or that’ worksheet. There is an image and the child needs to write a sentence using ‘this or that’.
That is a cob.
This is a bud.
That is a nib.
That is a box.
This is a kid/lad.
That is a bed.
This is a bug.
Remember, when talking of something near you, use this. When talking of something far from you, use that.
Please go through the above resource explaining the concept of ‘this and that’ in detail with examples. It will highlight the point better.
